SETTING UP YOUR APPOINTMENT

If you have a question for the shop prior to submitting a formal booking form. Feel free to reach out through our 'Contact' page, to submit your inquiry and our shop manager will be able to assist you.

WHAT IF I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THE PROCESS BEFORE BOOKING?

Please submit a booking form and a member of our team will reach back out to you within 48-72 hours. Once we find a date that works for you and the artist, we will then take a deposit and add you to the calendar.

HOW CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

You can always call the shop to see if we have any space on the day, but our artists are pretty busy all year round. In order to get tattooed at Mimik, we recommend you book an appointment through our booking form.

DO YOU GUYS ACCEPT WALK-INS?

In North Carolina, you must be 18 years or older, regardless of parental consent, with a valid government issued photo ID to get tattooed. Temporary paper-issued IDs cannot be used as a form of identification.

WHAT IS THE AGE REQUIREMENT FOR GETTING TATTOOED?

Deposits are non-refundable.

We require 72 hours notice that you cannot attend your appointment. At that point, we can help you reschedule the appointment and your deposit will carry over your new date. However, less than 72 hours notice will forfeit your deposit and a new payment will be required to reschedule your appointment.

A deposit will also be forfeited in full in the case of:

a. You do not appear for a tattoo appointment.

b. You arrive more than 15 minutes late to a tattoo appointment. ( Without advanced notice )

c. You reschedule 2 or more times for any session of the same tattoo, regardless of notice.

d. You fail to reschedule a new appointment within 30 days of a cancelled appointment.

e. You arrive to a tattoo appointment without government-issued photo identification. Temporary paper-issued IDs cannot be used for identification.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

Our shop does accept cash and credit/debit cards for payment. There is a 3% processing fee for card payments. We do not accept checks.

CAN I PAY WITH CARD/CASH?

Tattoo pricing can vary drastically depending on size, complexity and placement. We don't usually give price estimates, and we recommend you over-budget in case the process takes longer or there are some last minute additions to the design.

CAN I HAVE AN ESTIMATE OF HOW MUCH MY TATTOO WILL BE?

The cost varies on the size of your tattoo, the complexity, and where you put it on your body. Our minimum is 1 hour (which will depend on the artist's rates). We are aware getting a tattoo is an investment and we are always willing to work with you if you're under a budget. Shoot us a message when you submit your booking request and we can schedule multiple sessions or give you some different ideas/options that will fit your budget

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO GET A TATTOO?

Tips are always appreciated, but not required.

SHOULD I TIP?

Some of our artist's hourly rates are $150 an hour, and some of our artist also have a fixed day rate. We recommend you contact us with the specific artists you would like to work with or inquire directly with them.

WHAT ARE YOUR ARTISTS RATES?

Our artists will spend hours of work in drawing and preparing for a tattoo before you come for your appointment. Deposits help to ensure you make it to your appointment and that the artists haven’t done hours of work for nothing.

WHY DO YOU REQUIRE DEPOSITS?

BILLING / PRICING

You’re more than welcome to bring one guest, but we may ask that they remain in the waiting area during your appointment if there isn't available space in the artist's area. We do not allow minors into the shop.

CAN I BRING ANYONE WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Tattooing is not a quick process, nor should it be rushed as you will be living with the results permanently. An averagely complex piece of work about the size of the back of your hand, usually takes about two hours to complete. Larger or more complex pieces can take tens of hours, and will require several sittings to complete.

Usually appointments are made in multiples of hours, but some smaller pieces may only require a thirty minute appointment. A full sleeve (done by any decent artist), could take anything from ten to fifty hours work to complete depending on complexity.

HOW LONG WILL MY TATTOO TAKE?

Depending on where you're getting tattooed, your artist might recommend you wear something specific, otherwise make sure you wear comfortable clothes.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY TATTOO SESSION?

Our artists recommend drinking water regularly, moisturizing and every 2-3 days for about 1-2 weeks prior to your appointment.

We recommend being well rested on the day of your appointment and make sure you have showered (do not shave the area, your artist will do this for you). Be well hydrated and eat a full meal prior to arriving for your appointment.

Don't forget to bring your government issued photo ID (or we won't be able to tattoo you).

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TATTOO SESSION?

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT

The majority of your new tattoos healing process will be done within the first two weeks. However, the skin is still working to heal and rejuvenate and you need to plan on a 4-6 weeks for your skin to be back to its previous state.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL AFTER A TATTOO?

Your artist will give you after-care instructions after you're done with your appointment.

Some rule of thumbs are:

a. Use unscented antibacterial soap to wash your tattoo.

b. Moisturize with an unsceted lotion

c. Stay out of chlorine pools, salt water, and only minimum sun exposure while tattoo is healing.

d. Don't pick at scabs or scratch your tattoo when itchy.
